Why on earth is there a goat in that picture above?

That’s very good question indeed! Perhaps goats are an ancient symbol of curiosity, or perhaps we were just feeling a bit silly when we built this web page. But seriously, if you’re laughing then this question has answered itself.

What is royalty free music?

Royalty free music is music that you can legally use for commercial purposes without having to pay any ongoing fees.

For example, you can use royalty free music to create your own media productions, such as meditation and hypnosis recordings, YouTube videos, audiobooks or podcasts. You can then earn income from your media productions if you choose to do so.

You can also play royalty free music at your place of business without having to pay any performing rights fees.

In short, royalty free music is the simplest and most cost-effective way to get background music that you can legally use to create your own products and services.

For full details on what you can and can’t do with our music, please read our license terms.

Simply browse any music page on Enlightened Audio and you will see prices beneath the album artwork. The price of the license is included in the price of the music. There are no additional fees.

Please choose your music carefully. Like most other online shops that sell downloadable products, it is not possible for us to refund or exchange any product that has already been downloaded. Once the download has taken place, the purchase is final.

You can simply purchase and download music from our website like you would from any other music website. You don’t need to do anything special. Your invoice and a copy of our standard license agreement will be all you need to prove that you have the legal right to use our music. You’ll receive an invoice and our license agreement immediately after purchase.

We keep detailed, long term records of all purchases, so even if you lost your records and needed to prove that you have the right to use our music, we’ve got you covered.

One of the most common questions we are asked is, “Can I use your royalty free meditation music to create meditation / hypnosis recordings and then sell them?” The short answer to that question is “Yes! That’s exactly what our music is for”. You can also use our music to create all sorts of other media productions which you can monetize. For example, YouTube videos, interactive apps and relaxation DVDs, to name just a few. Want some more insight into how people use our music? Click here for some real-world examples.

Certainly not. You can use your royalty free music to create as many recordings and videos as you like.

Yes indeed. Once you have created your own recording by adding your voice to our music you can sell as many copies of your recording as you like.  You can sell it as a digital download or as a CD. You can also publish it on any music streaming platform, video streaming platform and in any software app too. Your recording belongs to you, so there are no restrictions on where you sell it or how many copies you sell.

Unfortunately not. If you made our music playable on your website, then your visitors could use your website as a free music player and this is not permitted. Our license terms do not allow people to sell or stream our music by itself (i.e. without the addition of a voiceover).

Yes of course. To purchase music for a client, simply log out and create a new account that is registered under your client’s name. Any music purchased using this account will automatically be licensed to that client.

You can create separate accounts for as many clients as you need to. We recommend that you provide each of your clients with their account login information and a copy of our license terms

For further information on how we handle licensing, please click here.

Please keep in mind that you cannot use the music you purchase to create products for multiple clients. You must purchase music for each individual client, even if they want to use the same music that you purchased for someone else.

There are a few things that are not allowed. First and foremost, you cannot use our music to create “music only” media productions. You must ALWAYS add narration to the music.

For example:

  • You cannot distribute CDs or downloads of our music.
  • You cannot stream our music on any music or video streaming platform, or on your website.
  • You cannot use our music in any app that is able to play the music without narration.

You can add nature sounds to our music in addition to narration, but you cannot add nature sounds to our music without narration.

You can add video footage to our music in addition to narration, but you cannot add video footage to our music without narration.

In short, any media production you create with our music must contain narration.

It is also illegal to sub-license our background music in any way – meaning that you cannot purchase our music and then re-sell it to other people to use in their projects.

Please refer to our license terms for full details.

No. You cannot buy our music, then add your own additional music or instrumentation to it. Remixing and derivative works are not permitted.

Absolutely. Provided that you add narration to the music, you can add nature sounds to our music too.

We have a beautiful collection of royalty free nature sounds for this purpose, (and you can also use nature sounds that you may have purchased elsewhere).

However, you cannot mix our music with nature sounds and then distribute that recording without also adding narration. Remember – all our music and nature sounds are to be used as background sounds in media productions that also include narration.

You can add binaural beats or other brainwave entrainment frequencies to our music in addition to narration, but you cannot add these sounds to our music without narration.

For your convenience, you will receive your music in two formats:

  1. Uncompressed WAV files, 16-bit / 44 kHz. This high-quality lossless format is the best choice if you want to use the music in your own recording.
  2. 320 kbps MP3. These files are smaller in size to WAV files and are the best option if you want to copy your music to a portable media player.

Both of these formats are high quality. Both are compatible with Macintosh and PC.

Note: These audio files are compressed into zip files to ensure secure, complete download delivery. Simply double-click the zip file to open it and reveal the WAV and MP3 files inside.

WAV files are the highest quality audio files and are sonically identical to a CD. They are higher quality than MP3 files. However, our MP3 files are VERY high quality as well, and as a result many people can’t tell the difference. We supply both file types simply because these are the two most common types of audio and some people are more familiar with one file type than the other.

Many of our music productions are very long, but this does not mean that we create 3 minute tracks and loop them over and over again. Our music usually contains very long, expressive passages that evolve over time whilst maintaining a certain theme. Many of our tracks will play for 15 – 30 minutes before you hear any looping at all, and even once a section of music has been looped, we will add subtle variations so that the music continues to evolve and remain interesting.

We take this approach to ensure that your music is as expressive and enriching as possible, but without going off on any unexpected tangents – exactly what you need for high quality meditation and hypnosis recordings that your clients will appreciate.

As soon as your payment is received, your music will be available for you to download from the downloads section in your account. You will also receive an email to confirm your purchase with a direct link to your account.

To download your music, go to the downloads tab in your account, click on the blue download button and then save the file to your computer.

The files you will download are in zip file format. Once downloaded, simply unzip the file and open it to reveal the audio files inside.

You can also return to Enlightened Audio at any time in the future, log in to your account and download your music again – as many times as you want.

Should you ever have a problem with a download (a rare event), please feel free to contact us for support. We will attend to you promptly and will make sure that you receive everything you ordered.

Problems like this are rare, but they can happen from time to time. Our music files are stored on some of the world’s most reliable and fastest servers with a guaranteed uptime of over 99.9%. So if you ever find that your music is downloading very slowly, or not at all, this is probably due to a temporary disruption to the internet service in your local area or a temporary problem with your personal computer. Sometimes these problems go away by themselves and your download will speed up over time. Sometimes these problems are resolved simply by restarting your computer or switching to an alternative web browser.

If you have problems downloading, please check our ‘How to download music from Enlightened Audio’ page for further information.

If you are still having trouble after that, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We have never failed to deliver music to our customers, not once ever.

Our music files are high quality and fairly large, ranging from around 200MB – 750MB in size. With a fast internet connection (more than 100 mbps) our largest files can be downloaded in a minute or two. With a slow connection (less than 25 mbps), they might take 5-10 minutes.

You don’t have to credit Enlightened Audio or our music composer, Christopher Lloyd Clarke. However, publishing a credit is customary, and a lovely gesture of kindness and respect. If you use our music and wish to provide a credit, you can add it whenever and wherever it is convenient to do so. How you publish a credit is up to you. For information on how to publish a credit properly please click here.

Yes – you may run ads on YouTube videos that include our music in the background. Please note that “music only” videos are not permitted. Any video you create must include a voiceover.

This is nothing to worry about. You definitely CAN use the music you purchased from us in YouTube videos. The YouTube copyright notifications you received is an error. Fortunately, this error is easily resolved.

Simply log in to your YouTube account, go to your video manager and dispute the claim. For detailed instructions on how to do this, please check out this great article: How to resolve YouTube copyright notifications.

We offer discounts to everyone, not just non-profit organizations. You can find out more about our discounts here: https://enlightenedaudio.com/pricing-and-discounts/

So many of our customers are non-profit organizations and other charitable foundations that we have already adjusted our prices and discounts to take this into account. No additional discounts are available.

Unfortunately not. We rely on your financial support to be able to continue making beautiful music. Our staff, studio facilities and online operations all rely on your financial support. Without it there would be no Enlightened Audio!

At this point in time we are unable to compose music to order. Our site director and composer, Christopher Lloyd Clarke, is booked out with recording projects for at least the next 12 months. Enlightened Audio keeps him rather busy these days!

Sorry, no. However, you can always download our music to your computer and then burn your own CD. Easy!

At this time we do not offer an “all in one” purchase price that includes our entire music collection, but we do offer great discounts for larger orders. Please click here for more information.
