We searched far and wide for the babbliest brook we could find. Deep in the forest we found it, winding its way between rocks and fallen trees. You'll also hear a touch of forest birdsong in this recording - just enough to add a sense of space and three-dimensionality to the sound of the landscape.
Listen closely and you'll be able to pick out all the sonic elements you expect to hear when you envision a waterfall...the splatter of water on rocks, the gurgling of water at the base of the falls and the rushing of water as it flows down the face of the falls and trickles downstream.
This lake has no name. It is almost too small and too remote for anyone to notice, and if it wasn't for some serious off-road driving and an exhausting hike, we never would have found it. In this recording we got up close to the water's edge where the lapping water was massaging fallen trees. Two versions of this recording are available. The second was captured on an empty stretch of shore that was free from trees and debris, so it sounds a little less gurgly.
The sound of ocean waves lapping gently and rolling onto the shore is a longtime favourite for lovers of nature sounds. This tranquil sound of ocean waves is very hypnotic and soothing.
Quiet Wonder is a very gentle, uncomplicated music composition that feels a little like a story being told. It may be a brief story, but it’s one that quickly produces a contemplative mood, leaving you feeling relaxed and a little more at peace with life.
A comforting sound if ever there was one. I recorded this rain from two perspectives: outside the house beneath the overhang of the roof, which yielded a very fresh, wet rain sound, and secondly, inside the house, which provided a more distant, mellow sound. There are no unexpected noises in these pristine recordings, just some subtle variation in the intensity of the rain.
We took recordings from dozens of locations along a rainforest waterway and blended them into one seamless sonic experience, from invigorating waterfalls, to trickling streams, to gushing gullies and everything in between.
Rock, sand, sunshine and surf - you'll feel cleaner, fresher and more relaxed just by listening to this recording. Heck - you might even get a tan! On this particular beach we were greeted by some large coastal birds. Their occasional calls add another dimension to this natural soundscape.
Secluded, pristine and untouched. A visit to Sleepy Bay on the southern coast of Tasmania is like a trip back in time to a prehistoric era. This is a truly magical place where the ocean meets a beach that is covered in tiny pebbles rather than sand. You'll hear these pebbles making a swishing sound as the waves roll in and wash over them.
We captured this rain recording near a lake in the late afternoon. No thunder, no wind, just a calm, sunlit day. As the clouds rolled in and rain started to fall, a rainbow appeared on the horizon. It might sound cheesy, but it really was one of those picturesque days.
The tranquility of a Zen master’s lifestyle is captured in this soulful and exotic performance. You can just imagine him sitting there by the river, draped in robes, his fingers dancing across the strings of his harp in perfect harmony with the natural world around him. He knows when to play, and he knows when to let silence speak. He understands that the space between the notes is as sacred as the notes themselves, and in this balance, he achieves perfection.
