The Lightwalkers

The Lightwalkers is a composition that I created in response to an email request from a lady called Jinelle. Jinelle was in the process of preparing a guided meditation CD and she asked me for music that “sounds like heaven singing”. She went on to describe music that would be “without any bells or chimes or flute or piano, just pure simple love from heaven sounding.”

Jinelle’s request motivated me instantly. It sounded like such a beautiful project to work on and it allowed a lot of room for my own artistic interpretation. But to be honest, I’m not sure that I really captured the sound that Jinelle was after, mainly because I couldn’t hold back on the chimes. I just couldn’t help myself!

I used all sorts of chimes and morphed bells to create sounds that would provide a sense of gentle movement and light in this music. I use them for texture and atmosphere – not to play melodies – and in that role I think they work extremely well.

This music will sit beautifully beneath spoken words and is perfect for guided meditations that require a spiritual, luminous atmosphere.

The Lightwalkers consists of a main theme that lasts for about 20 minutes. I’ve also prepared longer versions of 30 minutes and 60 minutes which maintain the same atmosphere as the shorter version, whilst including subtle variations and longer, slower endings.
